IDEA
Our New Short Film, ‘Indian Summer’, is a heart warming comedy about a young Devon boy, Jonny, who through circumstance, acts as tour guide to Rhia, a pretty British-Indian girl who’s just moved from the city. With underlying themes of blossoming romance, self-discovery, racism and political correctness, it pokes fun at all four along the way.

LET’S MAKE A MOVIE! - We made a movie!
It’s a well-used phrase spoken in the catering tents, around the cigarette butt cans and in the bars in our industry. The simple action of producing a story in front of the camera, screening it to the world in the hopes of recognition and the possibility of a blossoming career.

We have been working in the film industry for several years. During that time it has taken us on a journey through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles shooting indie films with a handful of filmmakers and no permits, to pounding the mud and pavements of some of the biggest films shot in England and scaling the largest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (Twice!) as well as brewing hundreds of litres of tea!

After producing several of our own shorts with two being recognized at film festivals and winning several awards, (Best Short – Heart of England Film Festival, Aloha Accolade Award – Honolulu Film Festival, Special Mention – Athens sci-fi & Fantasy Festival & Screening in Times Square, at the NYCIFF), we want to make our next film achieve the highest recognition of all, an Oscar!

The CREW

Toby Lomas - Writer & Director

Trained at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles as a Director, Toby has over 30 short films to his name, a television show in Dubai and has shot promotional material for The Children of the Mountain Charity. Since graduating in 2009 he has written and directed two large short films that did well at film festivals.  Toby has since worked as crew on larger, Hollywood films, including Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocal, Snow White and the Huntsman, Skyfall and Red2.

During his down time, Toby is always coming up with new ideas for films and has already written his first feature.

Roberto Ricci - Cinemaptographer

Roberto is an Italian Director of Photography and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He has shot numerous short films and commercials in the USA, Italy and Brazil, and has recently, in 2012, shot his first feature film, 'The Fortune Theory,' as Cinematographer. We had the pleasure and luck to work with Roberto on our last short film 'L'amour de Montparnasse'. He works wonders and will continue to do so on 'Indian Summer'.

Henrietta Fuller - Producer

Hettie is Toby's wing girl when it comes to making films together.  They share the same visuals and ideas so are able to communicate well when it comes to creating.  Hettie's background is as a photographer so she has quite a creative input when it comes to filmmaking. She also works in the UK film industry as part of the Assistant Directors team on the large Hollywood films so knows her way well around professional film sets.  Together, Toby & Hettie hope to continue into making feature films and one day maybe own/run their own cinema!
